HOW TO MAKE NIGERIA WORK AGAIN - APC CHIEFTAIN An All Progressives Congress, APC Chieftain in Cross River State Hon. Emmanuel Enang has said Nigeria is bound to work optimally if her citizens can develop the spirit of forgiveness and the desire to support efforts of the present administration aimed at reforming the polity.
Enang who was Spokesperson of the defunct Presidential Campaign Council, PCC in the South South Zone made the observation during a Breakfast Meeting of the Neighbourhood Coalition in Lagos.
Neighbourhood Coalition is a support group of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Enang maintained that the current Administration has demonstrated the capacity and the political will to change the narratives of the country but that the support and cooperation of her citizens was necessary to address the multifaceted challenges.
He emphasized that "Ethnicity and Religious Intolerance has been a terrible cloak which have had limiting effects on the development of the country."
According to him: "As a consequence,people hardly forgive their fellow human(Nigerians) because they do not come from same ethnic group or are not members of same religious sect.
"This is unfortunate of a country that desires to come out of its challenge," he maintained.
The APC Chieftain was also of the view that "Nigerians must do less of litigations after every elections so that the party or candidate in Government can have the time and wherewithal to concentrate on the development of the people and the polity."
According to him,the idea of prolonged litigations after elections contestation was counterproductive to development in many different ways.
He charged the citizens to embrace and adopt love,peace and unity as a common denomination in the idea of development adding that these fundamental principles should define the religiosity of the Nigerian people instead of philosophical inclinations.
The Breakfast Meeting ended with a commendation on President Bola Tinubu for keeping to the terms of the constitution in the appointment of Ministers among others.
