SHORT BIOGRAPHY OF NIGERIAN ARTIST
Divine Ikubor, better known by her stage as Rema, was born in Edo State, Nigeria, in 2000 to a Christian family. In 2019, he earned a record deal with MAVIN RECORDS as a rapper and vocalist from Nigeria.
His debut song, Dumebi, inspired fans to fall in love, and it reached various African music charts. With the release of Iron Man, which was featured on Barack Obama's 2019 summer playlist, Rema rose to aristocracy. Rema grew up singing and rapping when he was in secondary school. He completed both his primary and secondary education in the state of Edo.
The initial letter of their stage names, RNA, which was created by Rema and his friend Alpha p, is the name of their band. Before releasing their debut single, "Mercy," they earned a record deal with peak entertainment after winning season 2 of Pikolo's Dream Alive talent contest in 2013.
Whyte House Pictures directed the music video for Mercy, which was recorded at Dream Alive Studio in Benin City. They gained some minor notoriety when they appeared in the Glo Slide and Bounce concert series in Lagos and Benin.
