On Monday, October 24, 2022, Justice Mobolaji Olajuwon of the Federal High Court in Abuja issued an order directing the Federal Government to take possession of two properties in Abuja and two high-end vehicles that belonged to a former minister of petroleum resources named Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke.
The two properties, which are situated at Plot 1854 Mohammed Mahashir Street and No. 6 Aso Drive in the affluent Asokoro and Maitama Districts of Abuja, are worth $2,674,418 USD and N380,000,000 USD, respectively.

On September 27, 2021, the Commission filed a separate motion ex-parte asking the court to order the interim forfeiture of the assets on the grounds that there was a reasonable suspicion they were the proceeds of illegal activity. The Commission was successful in getting the interim forfeiture on the assets on November 29, 2021, as a result of the court's decision.
Justice Olajuwon had mandated that the EFCC issue a notice in a national newspaper asking anyone having an interest in the assets to give justification as to why they should not be finally forfeited to the Federal Government of Nigeria in order to obtain the interim forfeiture order. A report date of January 22, 2022 was set by the court as a result.
