The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) was mandated by the National Industrial Court to end its current strike on Wednesday, September 21, 2022.

Keeping in mind that the strike was called by ASUU on February 14 of this year, it has now lasted seven months.

According to the court's decision, the Federal Government's plea for an order of injunction against the instructors was granted because of section 18 of the Trade Dispute Act and the national interest of Nigerian students.

As a result, Justice Polycap Hamman issued the order for the strike to be suspended while making a decision on a federal government application asking that the university professors be required to return to work pending the resolution of their demands for better working conditions.
